Spent yesterday in town and today out with a group of international students. Visited the wind farm and a kiwi home. Shared a car with a couple of japanese students and we instantly hit it off. I guess it must be more daunting for them, since Japanese is their native language. I must thank hazel for informing me about this trip and we were the only 2 singaporeans who went. I love meeting new people, especially when they are from so many different countries---papau new guinea, carribean, USA, japan, malaysia, china. Realised that a few kiwis i met have not really seen as much as we do. They know nothing about anything outside their home country, which led to generalisations and assumptions. But come to think of it, it might not be their fault. The news here mostly covers home news and contains almost negligible international happenings. I seriously need an online newspaper.
