...but a rainbow follows right after.
Have been rather busy this week, hence no blogging for a while. Yesterday's semaster exam for biology of animals was the kind of exams you always wish to get----no surprises nothing, just straightforward questions. That made my day and kept me awake till 2am today. A week passes so quickly here.Easter break is starting next friday, after another biology of cells exam on wednesday. Hopefully I'll get to go to wellington with Felicia and Hazel.Haven't been exploring New Zealand a bit since i came straight to palmy. I'm not complaining about this blissful little city but it can get rather boring . Might be a good place to retire though.
Biology of animals lab was really exciting for me this week. We went down to a stream running through the campus---after walking down slopes and climbing hills--- and collected organism samples for testing. Being a city bumpkin, I was really keen to put on my brand new gumboots and kick the rocks on the streambed so as to be able to collect the samples. I think Brenna was glad that i volunteered to do it.hehe.She remarked that i was a deprived kid who didn't get the chance to jump on rain puddles. Hmmm,,, That might be true. But I did things she didnt do as well. All's fair.
And to end off this miserably short and aimless entry, I have to say something depressing. I realised again that friends come and go. Not all friends but a couple of them.Especially those you were once close to. Life's weird eh? It does troubles me a little.
To my amazement as well as surprise, i woke up at 1130am today.Maybe it shouldn't be shocking since i slept at 2am yesterday. Made the avocado milkshake which i've yearned for a long time. Finished most of it by myself; people are skeptical about it. Poor simple avocado.I'm contemplating whether or not to get a blender. I could then make smoothie whenever i want to without the need to make so many assurances to the owner. I love avocado smoothie.
And i had that and the ears of my golden bunny for brunch.
We had to distil hydrocarbons during chemistry lab today and i was happily gloating(real meanie eh?) when people set fire to their apparatus and broke their equipment. Yet unknowingly, a drop of potent concentrated sulphuric acid was burning through my skin and giving me a blister. Though less "flamboyant" and "exciting" as compared to the other accidents, it warranted quite an amount of attention. All the lab attendants knew about it and a a 2 pages long form had to be filled regarding this accident.I'm a troublemaker aren't i? haha(sheepish)
hey i'm back. Finished bio of cells lab an hour and a half early so i'm currently doing my laundry as well as doing a couple of revisions before dance. Leaving hall at 5pm even though dance starts at 715pm since it'll be brighter and safer. Will be dropping by the hypermart to get a loaf and peanut butter!!! yum yum! OH ya!!!! The test that i took for bio of cells last week got a half mark deduction because i didn't state the formula!!!! It's annoying.really.
i know i know the title just seems out of place but i can't think of a better one right now. I had beef sausages and veggies for lunch!Ya beef! Had to do a swap because of dance in the evening.Gosh! I had really no choice because they only had that or sandwiches and fries (which i had for a few times! really fattening greasy fries)or a really cloyingly sweet slice and wedges or disgusting looking pasta or stir-fry and rice which i have for dinner most of the time Going for lab soon after an hour break.Enjoyed my morning lab alot!!!! I made this chick embryo using bits of polymer clay, just like an art class. I'll post pictures of it later.
sorry mr cow...
I can't believe it and neither could you i guess.I slept for at least 11 hours!!!! I woke up and it was 10am!!!! IIt must be due to the many dreams i was having.Couldn't snap myself out of them. But glad that they were not disturbing nightmares that make my sleep fitful and uneasy.
Upon waking, I went straight to ann's door( after brushing my teeth of course. That's just an exaggerated description.)and we got down to begin our secret mission. She taught me how to whip fresh cream and AZUSA CAME BY SEVERAL TIMES!!!! She even corrected our whipping techniques!!!(she worked at a bakery before) hahahaha but she didn't suspect anything because we kept the pavlova in the cupboard. She must have thought we were making cream for strawberries or something. Everything came out fine and enjoyable if not perfect. We are not qualified bakers anyway.
p.s.oops! Azusa is 25 not 23. mistake noted.
Guess i haven't been updating my blog for a week now. Had a sudden spur to write lots of things down when i was in the shower.Came back to my room hoping to type them all down but guess what?...the internet was down again!!!!! Bet everyone at inspire net help desk knows me by now. It never did get better despite me calling them and bombarding them with heaps of complaints. The same issue crops up so frequently that i start to make a silent wish everytime i turn on the computer. Fancy myself wasting wishes on such menial stuff.
Visited the local market in the morning ang got apples, melon and spinach.Spinach because i could just microwave it.Apples because i could just eat them without shaving off the skin. And melon because I could just slice it and leave it in the fridge. I never like anything related to cooking so i'm trying to lessen the time i've to handle kitchen equipment. After an afternoon of revision, i had my second frisbee practice in the evening and came back warm( because of the exercise) and hungry. Had a cold sandwich from my lunch swap while seated in a couch at the commom room and watched simpsons with the rest. Simpson's good. Then i showered and did my laundry.Tried to read my biology textbook but nothing was sinking into my brain.Decided to do a chemistry test online but my system isn't compatible with this required software. So i decided to be a 'kay-poh' and read my friends' blogs as well as their links. Sharkie i know everything about your family now.hahahahha...your sisters are as hilarious as you!
I initially wanted to write about a more serious and depressing topic but not now.Hazel commented that my past entries were really sombre and depressing. It scares me to read them again. Glad I have more joy in my heart now.haha.Guess it's just the way you view your life. Ser remarked that my life is fun and i told her i only wrote the interesting and cheery bits. Maybe i'm 'enlightened'. wahaha...this word always remind me of the time when the light from the OHP shone on my friend's face and another guy said "you are enlightened" under his breath. That cracked me up.
Happy 21st birthday colin and happy 23rd birthday Azusa!
Got to sleep...woke up at 650am today...One more hour of sleep since DST is ending at 3am on sun!!!!! yay!!! so i'll get to meet more people online!!!!yay!!!! HOORAY!!!
p.s.this post is quite senseless.haha.i'm too sleepy...
Due to my late night yesterday, I slept till 10am today and had a brunch of avocado and crackers after my morning stretchings. The entire morning/early afternoon was spent flipping through my "campbell and reece" and stacks of notes. I got so sick and tired of studying that I began to do random things like going for a quick shower, vacuuming my room as well as cutting up the watermelon i bought yesterday. As i was hoping to spend the rest of this sunny sunday outdoors, Meaghan asked if I would like to go swimming in the creek. Yay!!! 6 of us from Mchardy hall headed down to the water hole just across the street in our summer togs and I was stupid enough not to wear my sandals. I tip toed down a rocky path leading away from the main road and the creek was just there!!!! A couple of kids were frolicking in the icy water and we hopped right in. We ventured upstream, crossed log bridges, picked blackberries and I felt as if it was an adventure.I must be a real city bumpkin as compared to them all. And after that, we sun baked on the lawn in front of our hall. Now, i'm asked to play a game downstairs so cya.
Spent my favourite day--friday---grocery shopping and lugged back a bagful of yummy snacks that are going to be my brekkie/lunch /brunch. Went to town again today with Azusa---my japanese hallmate---and had luncheon outside for the first time since school started. And what do you think I have? Mango Cheese cake and a cuppa definitely. I used to spend time at starbucks/coffee bean/mccafe with just a capucchino and a book or a sketchbook. Missing times like that recenly. And I definitely miss good desserts since those served in school were beyond description---a true culinary adventure. For instance, we had this gooey looking stuff today that I didn't even want to try a bit. But for the main meals, they are pretty decent most of the time except for the vegetarian choices.(better than what i can cook is good enough) Hence, I had red meat twice(mince beef in burrito and nachos) even though I didn't use to eat them. I would get muscle degeneration if I continued having rice and veggie every day or I would have gained several pounds if I had fish and chip that often.
I had my first game with the college's ultimate club on thursday and I'm going for dance on wed. Thankfully I have all these activities to keeo me sane.Or else it would just be school, study, eat, sleep. A couple of people managed to live such a life for 2 weeks but Pitza isn't one of them. what are multi-tasking and time-planning for?
After one totally exciting day of me getting a fish and attending 2 Kiwi "Barbies" one after another, someting terrible happened. There was a crack on my precious fish bowl and water seeped out non-stop. I was quite drained after a long day of work and fun and really wanted to just run to my bed. But i was so afraid that sharkie might just die the next day so i held my eyelids opened and covered the bottom of the bowl with cellulose tape and duct tapes. I must be dreaming of sharkie even when I was sleeping---Woke up several times to check on the water level in case a drought happens. I called the pet shop in the morning and hazel was nice enough to take a bus down with me even though we were unsure of the exact route. Much walking later, we got to our destination and got a new bowl in exchange without questions asked. I made sure everything was perfect this time round by getting the bowl wrapped in newspaper and bubble wrap. No risky business since a trip to the pet shop isn't exactly easy without a car.
As expected, i was totally elated. BUT the problem came instantly. We couldn't find the correct bus stop back to the city!Believe me it isn't that straightforward as singapore. There are numerous routes and they don't go in loops sometimes. I tried asking people but to no avail. Then we thought help came when we saw daryl driving past. Alas, he didn't stop at all and waved to us with a dazed look.UhHUH!!! I suggested walking back to the city and as we were ploughing back along the long and winding road, this other guy from singapore(can't rem his name) spotted us and stopped his car!!!!!!!!! Salvation is here!!!!! And the rest were mundane and boring to type so that's my story for saturday.
Hazel n me taking the bus back to massey
Sunday's excitement began at noon when we had our crazy sports day. We had ourselves(including the face) painted with tempera paints and we played all sorts of silly games.Hope I manage to get those pictures and I'll post them!!! And as usual, I made a mistake of painting designs on my legs and not putting enough sun block on my face. Now I have legs with prints of hearts and flowers on them as well as a streaky tan on my face!!! UGLY! WHat more can i say.
Sharkie arrived today in a blown-up plastic bag. He still seem lost in his small little bowl, not exactly sure where his companions are. He scavaged among the rocky ground for traces of clues but to no avail. Poor sharkie.
I got a fish partly because of this book by jimmy liao. This man had a fish which smiled all the time. He loved his fish deeply and stared at him swimming in his bowl for hours. However, he had an enlightening dream one night. His fish glowed and brought him to a great big ocean. The next morning, he decided to put his fish back into the sea..
I love jimmy liao.
I love fridays.
I miss momo.
I had fun today at the merlion club BBQ.
How great would it be if everything in life is organized in a list of some sort. Though boring and predictable, it might be easier and less intimidating. But i'm satisfied with my life. Can't wish for more.
oh ya and i finally lighted my 1st matchstick during chemistry.MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I was left with no choice. I didn't want to seem like a wimp.
I can do headstands really quickly now.Used a 10 seconds timer to take these shots!!!!*BEAMS*
Just had an early dinner with Brandy before she went for her bio lab at 6pm. Due to my surname---as always, I ended up in the second group for the physics lab and have to be there at 730pm till 9pm. *Big sigh* Had veggie and rice today and totally ignored the disgusting gooey chocolate cake. Was that supposed to be food?! And why did she have to put so much celery on my plate?????? I would much prefer bak choy, mademosielle if you please.
Brandy might be dropping chemistry and hence would be going for vet again next year. I tried my best to dissuade her from doing so. I suggested she get a tuition teacher but I don't know where to find one here. Hopefully she'll find a better solution.
