I have got a sudden urge to eat taiyaki! It's this fish shape red bean thingy that mom used to buy at isetan when we were little. Sis loves the cheese filling better though. I'm not really missing singapore food per se. it's the variety that i miss. I don't really eat things like char kway teow or laksa in singapore anyway.Never really like them. I wanted to have cupcakes and cakes so much last month that i kept on surfing related websites. I could only satiate my cravings by looking at pictures.AWW...
I managed to make avocado milkshake a few months back because the recipe is simple and the ingredients are readily available.(but it took me much effort to persuade this guy to lend me his blender) Maybe due to the lack of variety in food here, people only classify a small range of food as normal. The rest are just weird.
I miss takashimaya food court!
i miss avocado ice cream!

And the lab supervisor thought i wasn't fine when i just went out to have a gulp of coffee.
the region above my toes still hurt even though i have been busy applying medicated cream on it the whole day. i didn't run as fast, didn't play as well and didn't improve as much. i'm a little disappointed with myself. What's wrong with my body?!
Even though i would really like to go to kenta's place for okonomiyaki with the Mucous team, I didn't. I've things waiting to be done(laundry etc) and most importantly i need more sleep. Even though i reallly love their company, I relinquished the chance to be with them. This calls for extreme self-discipline. Well done Angeline. At least you had happy meal for lunch today.
I have never been able to sleep in for a long time. I jumped put of bed at 9am today! Came back to hall at an unholy hour of 3am yesterday and i was hardly conscious. It's expected for someone who has been up for 20 hours or so.What have i been doing you might ask. After a tiring session of basketball and frisbee ( from 3pm to 530pm), i was asked to attend this party at the "Albert street's boys" homestay. The "albert street's boys" are the 4 frisbee members who live together in a homestay on albert street--apparent from their title. The hidden or not so hidden reason for this party is for jim to get to know this girl whom he likes. I was the only girl at frisbee today and I sometimes wonder if they find me a hindrance. Hopefully not. Can't wait for tomoko to get back from her trip.
So after training, small tomoko( jim's crush! haha), georgi, ayaka, hiromi and kenijiro(ken ken) joined us and we headed down to Albert street. Their place is like "The 3 bears" cottage. There are 2 cottages in the estate and a garden with winding stone paved path. Jim cooked for us all and we took quite a few photos that i have to get from hiromi!
And this morning when i woke up, my pranster friend and her accomplices had gotten rows of water-filled polystyrene cups outside our residential advisor's room! I didn't participate this time. The other time we tied bunches of balloons outside Amy's door on her birthday. Opportunely my birthday isn't during the school term. I'm going on a road trip with these pranksters during winter break. I can't help but wonder what trouble we would get ourselves into.
weird enough, it's a warm sunny day. i managed to complete my biology of cells lab in an hour and spent 30 minutes reading on the lawn. Haven't done this for a while. Dissected a white rat for bio of animals lab in the morning. I felt really upset while doing so.It looked more like a pet than a specimen. And i had to nail his 4 limbs to a wooden board.Bless his soul.

we won again! guess ultimate frisbee has got into me for good. I have been spending weekend afternoons studying and watching ouran high school host club on crunchyroll. That was quite productive i must say because i have anime and frisbee to look forward to. I procrastinated less and accomplished more. ^_^
This is the first time i really love a sport. i love training sessions and didn't complain at all about training 3 times a week in a row. I sincerely want to improve and not just be a regular player in the team.i'm happy with myself.
Feel like cycling out after class tomorrow.hopefully mr sun doesn't go into hiding.
went for merlion club cum Indonesian club BBQ after frisbee yesterday and i had the usual kiwi bbq fare of sausages and meat patty. Somebody actually prepared mee siam yesterday but the noodle was extremely chewy and rubbery for some reason. But it tasted good. I have something to admit. I didn't dare to weigh myself ever since i came here. However, i picked up my long lost courage yesterday and placed myself on Amy's weighing scale. And to my Surprise and elation, i didn't put on any weight at all! In fact i lost about a kg! Surprise surprise! I'm so terribly happy now!!!
hi blog.guess i haven't been blogging for quite a while. By the way, we won our game at the frisbee league just now. I dropped the frisbee quite a couple of times though. Got to improve! My injured left leg still isn't competent.Lactic acid built up quite rapidly.bad bad. But It's defintely much better than last sunday. I managed to cycle out and back before it turned dark yesterday.
Bambino is a new show i'm watching. I was reminded not to be complacent by the protagonist of the series. I have to put my best effort in everything i do and learn from others with humility! That's the spirit!
good night.
Our last mid sem test ended on thursday and everyone---including me--- is too thrilled to carry on with their normal lifestyle. We watched a movie called cool runnings on thursday night after our paper and I finally watched a movie in the movie theatre on friday evening. Spiderman 3 was awesome and it's a must-see for all!! (Or else i'll hit you on the head.) Most of the merlion club members went, which was a great surprise too! The movie must be too good to miss.hehe. I had the kids combo as my dinner, which consisted of popcorn, paddle pop, candies and a drink. I was so famished after my frisbee session and devoured them all(except for the candies which i gave to fel). Had my hair cut today and afterwhich, i had lunch with my hall mates at cafe cuba. You can't imagine my elation when i was savouring the cloyingly sweet silk cake. Yum! Heading for frisbee again later and the league is commencing tomorrow evening. I got into the team! Yay! So i got to bring myself back to mundane earth and strive to study as much as possible between frisbee sessions. Reporting back to earth!
It's sad to mention but I have been slowly losing interest in biology during jc since cell biology wasn't exactly intriguing. I never really thought of myself as learning about something alive and kicking. But biology of animals that i'm doing now makes me feel as if i'm at the zoo each time. We learnt about sharks and fishes today and the elephant fish is just so adorable! To my great disppointment, I forgot to take a picture of my first animal dissection---of a locust. Never thought a locust is so much like us, with internal organs and ganglia.i know this sounds stupid but i have always squash insects without much thinking. I shall bring my camera for next week's dissection of a dogfish. hehe i'm glad to say i did quite a good dissection of the locust even though i almost pulled out the gut unknowingly.

Autumn
I have been sleeping late ever since i came to NZ and I've been caffeine-dependent for a while now. Someone once told me that he fell sick after imbibing too much caffeine when he was in his first year. Fortunately for me, I haven't ended up in that stage of dependence.
To my surprise, I went tp bed at 940pm yesterday and woke up at 7am today, refreshed and ready to face a bright cheery day! Did some exercises and reading in my room and set off to pak n save on my trusty bike at 8am. The light drizzle didn't slow me down and i managed to get back at 920am! That's a record breaker ! woohoo! Having my breakfast now after my shower. Only 2 lectures today before the chemistry test at 7pm. Can't wait for it to be over. The wait is killing me! ARRGH!
p.s. Watch "paprika" on crunchyroll.com! it's so surreal! just like my dreams.
