Today is the end of my 1st week working at the turf club.I did the work of a stable groom and mingled with stable helpers, trainer as well as jockey trainees. Nothing vet related but i have to say that i'm learning lots of pertinent knowledge from them. The horsies were pretty intimidating at first but they are slowly getting friendlier. I have no muse tonight. So it shall just be a short entry.
The flight back home was longer than i always thought. Maybe it's because i rather wish to be either with people in palmy or Singapore, not anywhere in between. I cleared the airport custom faster than my parents expected me to. So i came out with no one waiting for me. Opportunely i have loose coins with me to make phone calls.
Visited my maternal and paternal grandparents after that. i didn't know my parents got a new car in aug!!! it's so posh as compared to cars in NZ. The door of the boot closes automatically when you press a button. "country bumpkin" me didn't know and closed it real hard.
Had luncheon buffet with my mom, 2 of her friends and my yoga teacher today. WHHOOOOO!! You can't imagine the variety of food!!! i didn't even get food from all the different food "stalls". I was too full to do that. And i didnt even have brekkie. Imagine.
Then, we headed to Takashimaya!!! WHEEEEEE!!! I love that place!!! we saw this guess bag that my mom thought was cool and i'm contemplating whether to get it or not. I bought a top from zara and a pair of princessy-looking flats!!! YAY!!! I now feel as if i just got out from a cave!! I have been hibernating for so long.
I'm starting work on monday. Moreover, i have to have my driving lessons as much as possible since i'll be tested on the 3rd of december. Oh my am i busy!!! SIngapore is definitely so different as compared to palmy!!! Will be catching up with my good friend tomorrow during dinner. I will also be going for yoga in the afternoon and having an Angeline shopping spree in between. It's my way to recharge you see. I missed doing that while i was in palmy. I love wandering around by myself and stopping for coffee if i need to.
I had my 1st real tramping today, with yang, tomo & kenta. We got lost at one point and my shoes were soaked. I had to dump them after this.Luckily i knew better and wore my old crappy shoes. Got to get real hiking shoes sometime soon because we'll definitely be tramping more often than ever with yang around in the flat next year. Somehow it felt so different with someone missing in action. I'm physically and metally drained. I shall just post pictures. Sorry if i sound incoherent.
I spent $51 dollars at pak-n-save on random junks to bring back to SIngapore. Got tim tam, pinky etc for family and friends(esp my greedy sista.)
Now i'm having a respite from exam revision. Somehow i was reminded of Cassandra Mortmain from " I capture the castle". She's my long-time fictitious idol and Shiqi once told me that we bore a certain resemblance. I hope we still do.
